The Ceremony
The ceremony is to be held at Ōtākou Marae on Tamatea Road. Please ensure you are at the venue by 1:45pm. Please also note that it takes 35-45min to travel to the Marae from town.
We will begin with a pōwhiri to welcome our waewae tapu (guests who have not yet been to Ōtākou Marae).

As a part of this process, we will be singing a hīmene (hymn) and we would appreciate it if you could make yourself familiar with the words. The hīmene is Whakaaria Mai (above). There will be people on hand to help guide those who are unsure of the pōwhiri process.

Please note you are not required to take off your shoes before entering any of the buildings on this Marae, however if you have very fine heels which may mark the floors this would be appreciated.

After the pōwhiri we will move to the whare karakia (church) for the ceremony. It is expected that our ceremony will conclude at around 3-3.30pm. This will leave you with up to 2 hours to fill at your leisure. There are a range of activities to do on the Otago Peninsula, or alternatively we are suggesting that people meet up and celebrate with friends and family at the Portobello Pub.

Our reception is to be held at Knox College in Opoho. Please arrive between 5.30pm and 5.45pm to ensure that you are there in time to welcome the bride and groom. When arriving, please drive up the entrance off Knox Street and you will be directed to a car park at the rear of Knox.

Please also let us know with your RSVP if you have any specific dietary requirements.

The following day
For those who are free the following day, we would love for you to join us for a relaxed BBQ at Dobby and Jo’s from 11.30am. The address is 68 Rockside Road, Woodhaugh. Food and drink will be provided.
Although we are limited with numbers for the wedding day we would love it if your friends and family could join us to celebrate the following day.

Hen’s and Stag do’s
Both are to be held on Easter Monday, the 1st of April. Although we have asked our wedding party to arrange this, it is our understanding that there will be something appropriate even for those people who have work the following day. You are invited to join us on the day, or in the evening, and if you are interested please contact the person below:
